Annual Movements of Bicknell’s Thrush (Catharus bicknelli)

Bicknell's Thrush (Catharus bicknelli) is a small, elusive bird native to northeastern North America, found in high-altitude spruce forests. It migrates from its breeding grounds in the northeastern U.S. and eastern Canada to wintering habitats in the Caribbean, particularly Hispaniola, between late September and early November. The bird returns to breed from May to early June. This bird is known for its distinct song and is considered a vulnerable species due to habitat loss.

Drawing inspiration from John Nelson's blue whale migration map, I created a time-series migration map for this vulnerable species. 🌲💚🐦🌎
